Laser racing exhausts have been well known for their great power performance
and high quality for years. The Laser Xpro exhaust is specially developed in
order to use on original mounted or replacement cylinders . It also performs
well on most racing prepared replacement cylinders.The R&D team of Laser
has paid a lot of attention to the technical construction and materials used
in order to create long durability. Many parts and materials – e.g the
mounting parts, muffler fill and the quality of materials used – can also
be found in the famous motorcycle exhausts of Laser. Providing you attend to
certain aspects, the Laser Xpro exhaust can ensure you pleasure for years.
Functioning of the Laser Xpro:
- It is necessary to replace the original main jet for a larger size before
the Laser Xpro is taken in use; this to prevent any damage to the engine.
- Before riding the scooter on the road the first time, make sure that the
Xpro exhaust is heated and than cooled off once. The protective industrial
lacquering will set after the exhaust has reached a high temperature.
- Adjustment of the variator rolls is necessary to obtain the optimum result
with the Laser Xpro.
- In order to improve the acceleration from standing still we advise you to
mount a good replacement clutch.
- Regularly check the colour of your spark plug. It must colour "coffee
with milk" brown. In case the co[orization is light grey or white, the
main jet size may be to small.
- Mounting the wrong main jet size may lead to damage to the engine.
Maintenance of the Laser Xpro:
- Good maintenance extends the life of the exhaust.
- Clean the exhaust regularly with a soft cloth or sponge with hand warm water
with the addition of a non-aggressive cleaning detergent (car shampoo is advisable).
- Regularly apply some (motor-) oil to the exhaust with a soft cloth. The
protective greasy layer will keep the surface free of corrosion as long as
possible. (It is normal that the lacquering will disappear from the hottest
part of the exhaust.)
- Do not use a high pressure cleaner as this may affect the protective lacquering.
The noise level can increase in course of time due to coal deposit and condensation
in the silencer. Perform the following maintenance to the silencer:
- Dissassemble the silencer by unscrewing the clamp and the three mounting
nuts.
- Take the muffling material from the silencer.
- Remove the hard coal parts off the muffling material and the perforated
tube.
- Let the muffling material dry.
- Reassemble the silencer and mount it back to the exhaust.
