MALOSSI SINTERED BRAKE PADS |
Product Details
This is a
aftermarket
product.
They originated on the race track, but
they adapt perfectly to the chaotic driving conditions dictated by city traffic.
Made up of new ecological materials (a high proportion
of carbon fibre and other metal fibres), Malossi Brake Pads are characterised
by their low wear compared with those previously used and above all compared
with original pads.
Even so, they have greater braking power right
from low braking speeds, where MHR “racing”, Brake Pads normally
have difficulty in reaching the right temperature and give top performance as
braking speed increases. In fact, these new Brake Pads and MHR Brake Pads have
passed the severe performance and endurance tests of the Malossi inspectors
and riders and are therefore ready to make the move from the race tracks to
the everyday roads.
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
- Carefully clean the area in which you are
going to work and if necessary remove the wheel and possible the brake calliper
(consult your vehicle’s use and maintenance handbook).
- Using a flat-bladed screwdriver as a lever,
remove the plastic cover, remove the retainer and extract the pin that holds
the pads by way of the spring.
- Lever the old brake pads back, to make the
brake calliper pistons recede, taking care not to damage the piston sealing
rings.
- Remove the old pads 2 and replace them with
the new Malossi Brake Pads. Insert the spring the pin and the retainer and
close the cover again.
- If the disc brake is worn, scratched or warped,
it is advisable to replace it with new Malossi Brake Power Discs. Designed
to improve braking, extremely light and with ample dust grooves, they will
give you exceptional braking.
- After replacing the pads, work the lever several
times with the vehicle stopped to bed the pads and take the lever stroke
back to the correct position.
IMPORTANT
The Brake Pads should be carefully run in to guarantee their exceptional performance.
MAINTENANCE
Check the state of wear of the brake pads after the first 500 km and after that
every 5 000 km. If the friction material is only 1.5 mm thick, even on only
one pad, both pads must be replaced.
WARNING!
Sintered
pads must be used with stainless steel discs. If OE stainless steel discs have
been changed to aftermarket mild steel or cast iron then semi metallic pads
MUST be used.
